6th Amendment: Fair and Speedy Trials

The sixth amendment guarantees that a person will get a speedy trial. The person who is accused of a crime has the right to get a quick trial. This means that the country or state cannot make the person sit in jail for a very long time, for example 5 years, while they wait for their trial. This would be very unfair to anyone who is not guilty.

The fair trial goes into play by saying that the jury shall not make biased decisions since it would be unfair to the accused. This also must be tried at the place where the crime took place. The accused also must know what he or she is charged for and who accused them of that crime, as well as the right to ask questions. The accused also has the right to summon anyone that they believe will be helpful in their trial.
