Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights are the 10 original additions to the contitution. Here are some interesting facts about the Bill of Rights:
1. Back in the days of George Washington, there were 14 copies of the Bill of Rights. One was for the federal government, and the other thirteen was for each of the original 13 colonies: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island
2. The reason why these amendments were not included in the original constitution is that the congress, or the people incharge of making laws, claimed that the original 10 Bill of Rights were already included in the Constitution. However, a historian named Richard Beeman pointed out an interesting reason why the congress denied the bill; they had spent enough time stuffed in a hot room for four months, and they were anxious to end the conference and go home. Thry did not want to make the conference run longer by adding the Bill of Rights.
3. The reason why the Bill of Rights is so good is that it represents the ideas of a true American. It specifically protects the rights of Americans, and also gives power to the people of America.
